Our Bermuda Family Adventure Begins!
As most of you know, my parents bought the entire family a cruise for Christmas. We were headed to Bermuda via Royal Caribbean on the Vision of the Seas, and May 23 was finally the day to embark!
We arrived at 11 a.m., and security was a breeze to get through. However, I did have to say there were a few less-than-cheerful employees. We just smiled, ignored the grumpiness, and followed instructions—even though their directions completely contradicted each other. Note to management: You might have wanted to have a quick huddle and figure out what the actual rules were! Either way, it was a short and quick process.
We got on the boat super easily and headed straight to the Windjammer to grab some food. Of course, I was with Priscilla, so we went directly to the desserts first. Priorities, right? I ended up with a salad and some delicious fish. I officially kicked off the vacation with a custom cocktail: vodka, water, and a squirt of sugar-free iced tea mixer I brought from home. Starting the cruise off exactly right!
Next, we explored the ship to get our bearings and see what was available, and by then, our room was ready. It was small but comfortable—just what we needed. Though I did spot some rather suspicious-looking hairs in our bathroom. I politely let our cabin steward know, and he was on it immediately, giving the whole place a thorough re-clean.
Later, while wandering around the ship, we looked down from one of the balconies and caught Bryce and Ruby getting salsa dance lessons. It was absolutely adorable, and they had no idea I was recording them. Cue the blackmail footage!
We all met up for dinner in the Aquarius Dining Room, which was fantastic. The escargot was to die for—I actually ordered two plates of it. To wrap up the night, we headed over to the Some Enchanted Evening Lounge to watch Emery absolutely kick butt at karaoke.
Day one was smooth, chill, and overall a great start!
