Getting to Know Mount Airy's Own Hannah Ponce!
You know, one of the absolute best parts of my job as a local magazine photographer is getting to meet the truly shining stars right here in our community. I recently had the joy of doing the cover shoot for Mt. Airy Living and had the pleasure of spending time with a young lady who has that magnetic "it" factor: Hannah Ponce. Seriously, this girl is pure sunshine! She had such a lovely, go-with-the-flow attitude during the whole shoot—the kind of happy spirit that is absolutely infectious. I always appreciate working with people who bring that positive energy, especially when the camera is out.
Even before her breakout moment, Hannah always knew her path was paved with music. “When I was a kid, I was always inventing little songs or humming a melody in my head. It became known that music was going to be a part of my life,” she told me. Now, at just 20 years old, she’s not just humming—she’s playing live at bars, restaurants, and some truly large venues right here in the Maryland area. While she has been steadily growing her social media following, Hannah became a known figure in her hometown after being pulled on stage at The Great Frederick Fair to sing "You Look Like You Love Me" alongside headliner Riley Green. Pinching myself moment, anyone? “I knew when I got on that stage that I was where I was meant to be,” she shared. “I wasn’t really playing out much before then, just singing the National Anthems at Rodeos.” That one incredible night didn't just give her a fantastic memory—it launched Hannah Ponce into becoming one of the most well-known Country Music singers in our area!
So, what should we expect from this rising country sweetheart? “I am planning on traveling back and forth to Nashville, Tennessee, and focusing on my Music career,” she said with the kind of determined sparkle that tells me she means business. “I recently started writing originals, and I am working on recording them now. You will hear me on the radio soon. This is just the start.” And honestly, I believe her! I personally am going to have so much fun watching her rise to the top.
